How can the Indo Board help me with surfing?
Surfing requires that you keep your center of gravity low while also maintaining a stable, upright, shoulders back posture. In order to achieve that a surfer must learn to squat with very minimal bend at the waist (think the perfect “tube stance’) all while standing on a moving surface. This requires a great deal of core strength, balance, stability and the ability to shift your weight between from one foot to the other. The Indo Board teaches the rider all of these critical elements.
What about surf trainers that focus only on side to side (rail to rail) movement?
While the rail to rail movement on a surfboard is necessary to change direction, the real key to surfing is learning to properly distribute your weight between your front foot and back foot. This front to back distribution of weight is critical for your stability through big turns and paramount to generating and varying your speed while on a wave. Side to side or rail to rail movement can be trained on the Indo Board as well by using our IndoFLO cushion under the deck (instead of a roller).
